Find a Freelancer

Yvo Fitzherbert is a freelance journalist based in Istanbul. Before moving to Turkey in the summer of 2013, he studied History at the School of Oriental and African Studies. Having traveled extensively around Turkey, his writings focus on Turkish and Kurdish politics, as well as the Syrian Civil War and the refugee crisis. His research interests are particularly concerned with Kurdish nationalism in Turkey, Iraq and Syria. He has written for a variety of newspapers, such as the Sunday Times, Spectator, The New Arab and the Middle East Eye. He is also an editor for the online journal, Independent Turkey, which is connected to the think-tank "Research Turkey".
