Tash Sorensen is an internationally acclaimed Australian documentary photographer whose work focuses on human rights and social issues.

Outside of Australia, Tash has lived and worked in Ethiopia and India and travelled documenting in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and South Africa.

Tash's documentary and coverage of HIV and hospital conditions for the United Nations Joint Programme for HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) in Ethiopia was critical to the department in 2015. Her images were used for internal international reports which resulted in ongoing funding and medical assistance in the region.

Tash has also photographed for the Agence French Presse (AFP), CNN, Bacardi International, The Capital (Ethiopia's leading newspaper) and more; as well as covering world events like the European Migrant Crisis, south-east Asia natural disasters, South African Presidential protests, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week among others and continues to be a leading human rights and social issues photographer.

Tash is currently based in Brisbane, Australia where she photographs for Fairfax Media publications Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Australian Financial Review.

Tash has been an active member of the Frontline Freelance Register since 2015, as well as the American Society for Media Photographers since 2016. She is represented by Sheila McKiver at Balloon Agency.
