Mat Charles is an award-winning filmmaker and journalist. He has worked as a staff correspondent with the BBC, CNN and AFP. He is now freelance and is based in Colombia, where he covers the country's internal armed conflict and organised crime. He continues to be a regular contributor to the BBC.
