Marc Ellison is an award-winning, Vancouver-based photojournalist who has worked for varying domestic and international media outlets including: 60 Minutes; The Toronto Star; CBC; The Globe and Mail; iPolitics; The Vancouver Sun; Mega FM (Uganda); Radio Miraya (South Sudan); Hirondelle Foundation; Human Rights Watch; The Tyee; VICE magazine; MTV Canada, and Canadian Geographic.

In 2011, Ellison won an IDRC award to conduct research into the issues facing female former child soldiers struggling to reintegrate in northern Uganda. In 2013, his work in Uganda was recognized with an Award of Excellence issued by the Canadian Association of Journalists.

Ellison will be working in Mali in late 2013.
