Find a Freelancer

Hilton is a freelance photojournalist who mostly covers The Balkans, Eastern Europe and Turkey. Her interests include migration, social exclusion, human rights, arts and travel. She has been supported by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting for her project "Trapped in Greece," regarding the situation of asylum-seekers stranded after the closure of the Balkan Route. In addition to her work as a photographer, she also reports, writes and can shoot video. Before becoming a freelancer, she graduated from University of Missouri's master's in journalism program and worked for Sun Publications in suburban Chicago. In addition to her native English, she speaks conversational Italian and a smattering of Spanish, Turkish and Bulgarian.
