David Bathgate

David Bathgate is an award-winning documentary and travel photographer whose images appear regularly in international print and online publications such as Time, The New York Times, Geo, Stern, The Guardian, The Times of London, Smithsonian Magazine, and others. Holding doctoral and masters degrees in anthropology and journalism, respectively, David works regularly in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe, covering topics of social, political, cultural and environmental impact. Owner and Director of the premier online school of photography and multimedia storytelling, The Compelling Image, and contributing editor to Photojournale, David has also conducted photography, photojournalism and documentary workshops in Afghanistan, India, Bangladesh, Morocco, for the U.S. Army in Landstuhl, Germany, and most recently for the Framing Photojournalism School in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan. He is an official Fuji X Ambassador and contributor at Verifeye Media, Getty Images and Redux Pictures. David's work has been exhibited internationally in New York, Los Angeles, Berlin and Istanbul, among other venues.
