Constantin Gouvy is a freelance reporter and photographer. He has trained on the foreign desk of the Sunday Times, and reported on conflict and human rights, mainly from Iraq, Syria, Burkina Faso, and Tunisia for several French and English-language outlets, including Al Jazeera English, The Independent, Libération, The New Humanitarian (formerly IRIN News), Middle East Eye, and the Lebanese daily L'Orient-Le Jour. He was one of ten shortlisted for Amnesty’s 2019 ‘Gaby Rado Award for Best New Journalist’ for his work on the plight of ISIS fighters’ relatives returning to Mosul.

Constantin holds a post-graduate degree in International Relations form the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and prior to turning to journalism, he worked for a number of years in conflict research and analysis with international think tanks such as Crisis Group and the International Institute for Strategic Studies.
