Christina Goldbaum is an award-winning investigative reporter and visual journalist based in Mogadishu, Somalia and working across the continent. She covers U.S. foreign policy and national security as well as terrorism, human rights, humanitarian crises, conflict, and the occasional coup. Christina won the 2018 Livingston Award for International Reporting and the 2018 National Press Club's Edwin M. Hood Award for Diplomatic Correspondence, and she was long listed for the One World Media Awards "New Voice" Award in 2018 and the One World Media Awards "Women's Rights Reporting" Award in 2017. She is a grantee of The Fund for Investigative Journalism and her investigative reporting from Somalia has been raised in two congressional hearings. Christina's byline has appeared in The New York Times, Foreign Policy, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Daily Beast, Quartz, IRIN News, The Christian Science Monitor, VICE News, OZY Magazine, and others; she has produced and/or shot TV News and documentaries for Netflix, PBS Newshour, VICE News Tonight and VICE Weekly on HBO, and Agence France-Presse among others; and she has appeared on Democracy Now!, France 24, and i24 News. Christina speaks Swahili and Spanish, is a member of Women Photograph, and has undergone HEFAT training with Global Journalist Security and Hawthorne Proactive. She is available for assignments worldwide. |
