Ghiath Ayoub is an award-winning film director, visual artist, and photojournalist based in Beirut, Lebanon. Born in Damascus countryside in 1989, he graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in
Damascus, Department of Visual Communication in 2013, when he started using experimental video as a tool for expression. In 2018 he completed his first feature documentary “Still Recording”, which has since won several international awards, including the FIPRESCI Award at Venice Critics’ Week. Since 2019, Ayoub has been documenting the uprising in Lebanon and contributing to local media projects, including multimedia satire magazine Nems, grassroots media platform Akhbar Al-Saha, and independent media organization The Public Source.
