Richard Parry started his career as a war cameraman, producer and director, and continued covering conflicts for twenty years. He directed and wrote the movie SOUTH WEST NINE in 2001: and was nominated for a BAFTA (Carl Foreman award for outstanding debut by a writer/ director). He has directed and write four feature films including the iconic Brixton movie SW9, the horror film A NIGHT IN THE WOODS (Vertigo Films, Tribeca Films), the groundbreaking movie BASE (Vertigo Films, Amazon Prime, 2017) and is now finishing the thriller CRY ME RIVER for Secret Channel Films. Awards and Nominations – British Academy Film and Television Art (BAFTA), five British Independent Film Awards (BIFFAs), winning an Independent Eye Award, Ron Tibbett Award at Indie Memphis, Best Film at the Dutch Mountain Festival, Best New European Director at Orense International Film Festival amongst others. Richard has directed and shot forty TV documentaries: Including MIRANDA BARBOUR – SERIAL KILLER OR LIAR? (BBC3/1, 2018), 21 MILES (Bite Films, Virgil Films 2020/21) UNSOLVED (BBC3 series 2016), HUNTED Series 1(CH4 2015), BILLION POUND BASE (CH4 2014), DALE FARM – THE BIG EVICTION (BBC1 Panorama 2011), SHOOTING ROBERT KING (BBC Storyville 2009) and many others. |
