Zoe Sullivan began reporting for Free Speech Radio News from Brazil in 2009. She has been based primarily in the northeastern city of Olinda and reported on environmental and gender issues for Mongabay, Al Jazeera English, The World and other outlets. She has reported extensively from Wisconsin for the Guardian. Her radio documentary, Aymara and the ants, about the feminist movement in Argentina, aired on the BBC in 2017. She holds a master's degree in participatory research methods from the Institute of Development Studies in the UK and a BA in Development Studies from Brown University. Zoe is fluent in Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese.
