Sam is an award winning self-shooting TV Producer / Director who’s worked on a wide range of factual and current affairs documentaries for all the international broadcasters. He began his career working as an eye surgeon for an emergency medical team during the civil war in Southern Sudan but soon started writing for the Guardian newspaper and then began reporting for BBC radio. He has his own FS7 kit with a range of lenses and all the Gizmos. Sam has worked for many of the most well known presenters including, Louis Theroux, Chris Tarrant, Mishal Husain but has also directed character driven documentaries and was one of the embedded producers / cameramen for ‘Bear Grylls The Island’. He’s worked on the frontline in Iraq and Ukraine and has twice been nominated for a Grierson award and Prix Europa for the best current affairs documentary. He also won a BAFTA for Best Factual TV Series for the BBC’s ‘Our War’.
