Rebecca Gibian is an international freelance journalist based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Associated Press, The Atlantic, ABC News, GroundTruth Project, The Daily Beast, Pulitzer Center and on Bush Radio, among others. Her work focuses on systemic crises around the world that affect women and children, such as education, reproductive rights and immigration issues. She is currently a regular stringer for the Associated Press and a writer for RealClearLife. Most recently, she was a Staff Adviser at the University of Southern California Annenberg’s Media Center. Formerly, she was the Social Media Editor at the Pulitzer Center, and a News Team intern at Bush Radio. Rebecca holds a Master of Science in Journalism from USC, where she was a Dean’s Scholar, a student fellow for Pulitzer Center, the Senior News Editor for Neon Tommy and a Producer for Annenberg Radio News. She is also a graduate of Guilford College, where she was Managing Editor and Editor in Chief of The Guilfordian. She is the winner of the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award and multiple Los Angeles Press Club awards.
