Marcia Biggs is a Special Correspondent for PBS NewsHour, focusing on the Middle East. Recently, she covered the battle for Mosul and the ensuing refugee crisis and well as Syria’s ongoing civil war. Her reports have included interviews with child soldiers forced to fight for ISIS, doctors targeted by the Syrian regime and its allies, and the brave members of the Syrian Civil Defense, also known as the "White Helmets". Her award winning coverage in Iraq includes the plight of Yazidi girls who escaped ISIS captivity and the volunteering of American military veterans in the fight against ISIS. She has a Masters in Middle Eastern Studies from the American University of Beirut.
