I'm a freelance journalist based in Quito, Ecuador, covering human rights issues from the region - mainly Ecuador and Colombia. I have a background in Anthropology and thrive while doing fieldwork, trying to better understand communities and their struggles as well as their triumphs. I have a special focus on socio-environmental conflicts, Colombia's peace process, as well as indigenous, Afro-descendent and women's rights. I've been living in Latin America for over 5 years (one year in Mexico City and four in Quito) and have reported from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Mexico. My work has appeared in The Guardian, The Washington Post, Al Jazeera, MongaBay, In These Times, The New Internationalist, and The Real News, among others.
