May 2017 – Now: Guardian, Telegraph, VICE, Marie Claire, Stylist, Esquire, Sunday Times. International freelance photographer focused especially on conflict and humanitarian issues around the world, specialising in long-term investigative projects and shining a lens on global injustices and inequality. Dispatches from Iraq included: An in-depth view of male mental health in one of Kurdistan’s oldest IDP camps; embedding on the frontlines in Mosul with Iraqi Special Forces; an exclusive portrayal of the gun-toting grandmothers defending their village against ISIS; the Zoroastrian women risking their lives to leave Islam; the Yazidi rituals helping female survivors recover from captivity; the teenage girls sold over Facebook. September 2016 – April 2017: Vogue Italia, Vogue Bambino, Uomo Vogue, Esquire, Tatler, D&G, Pomellato, Bugatti, Mini, Eres. Personal Assistant of fashion photographer Lorenzo Bringheli Responsible for setting-up and maintaining lighting and digital equipment before, during and after shooting; overseeing digital work-flow and managing backstage shoots. Assisting with shoots across Italy, Kenya, France and the United Kingdom; and participating in the ‘Five Cities in 14 Days’ project for Esquire – coordinating back-to-back shoots in Hong Kong, Tokyo, New York, London and Milan. September 2015 – September 2016: Cesura International Agency. Collaborating photographer / Assistant photographer to conflict photographer Gabriele Micalizz. Placing a focus on stories of international conflict and human rights in Italy, Turkey and Greece, I covered the May 1st protests in Istanbul in 2015, while completing a project on Bonzzai abuse in the outskirts of the city. I similarly reported from refugee camps in Suruc – on the Turkish/Syrian border – and gained exclusive access to Moria camp in Lesvos. I also completed a project on the young refugees stranded in Ventimiglia, after France temporarily closed its borders to them in October 2015. Fine art printing, exhibition set-ups, collaboration on assigned photographic projects for publications such as Il Corriere della Serra - depicting immigrants in Milan – and contributing to the agency zine with my coverage of the 2015 Greek elections. I also commenced a two-year project for the University of Milan about the melting of Ghiacciaio Dei Formi glacier in Valtellina. January 2013 – August 2015: Vogue Italia, Cosmopolitan, Vogue Sposa, Vogue Gioiello, Vogue Bambino, Uomo Vogue, Elle, Grazia, Vanity Fair, GQ, Esquire, Tatler, D&G, Pomellato, Bugatti, Mizuno, Mini, Eres, Sky. Freelance Light and Digital operator for various international fashion photographers and assisting on editorial, advertising and fashion campaigns. Responsible for setting-up and maintaining lighting and digital equipment before, during and after shooting; overseeing digital work-flow and coordinating backstage shoots. Managed teams of more junior photographic assistants, completing basic administrative tasks such as lead photographers’ expenses and keeping track of equipment. January 2010 - December 2012: Newpress Service [Photojournalistic agency]. News photographer in Milan and surrounding district. Agency photographer for local and national newspapers and magazines, including but not limited to: Il Corriere della sera; Il Giornale; La Stampa; Il Giorno; La Nazione; Chi; L'Espresso; La Repubblica; La Prealpina.
