Christopher is an American correspondent covering foreign affairs, conflicts and crises mainly in the former Soviet Union. He has been based in Kiev, Ukraine for more than eight years. He’s also reported on events in Russia, Belarus, Greece, Israel, Italy, Turkey and the United States. His work has been featured in several top international news outlets, including RFE/RL, Mashable, The Guardian, The Times, The Telegraph, The Atlantic, The Independent, CNN and others. In 2013-2014, he was news editor at the Kyiv Post, where he helped lead the team that won the 2014 Missouri Honor Medal for Distinguished Service in Journalism for the newspaper’s coverage of the Euromaidan Revolution, Russia’s annexation of Crimea and the war in eastern Ukraine. He is a graduate of Portland State University in his hometown of rainy Portland, Oregon, and he wishes he could spend more time at his Brooklyn, New York apartment.
