Will Baxter (b. 1978) is an American photographer and writer based in Nairobi, Kenya. His work focuses mostly on conflict, human rights and social issues. Since 2003 he has worked in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burundi, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kenya, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Zimbabwe. His work has been published by Newsweek, TIME, Marie Claire, Stern, Der Spiegel, Geo, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, The Observer, Al Jazeera, and Internazionale among others. He is the recipient of two Society of Publishers in Asia awards, two WAN-IFRA Asia Media awards, and he won first place in the spot news category in the 2008 Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand photography contest. His work has been selected for “Pictures of the Year” editions of Newsweek, TIME and Stern magazines.
