A freelance journalist and video-maker, Michele Bertelli has reported from Latin America, South Sudan, Italy and the UK, focusing on economic development, environment, and human rights. His work has been featured, among others, on online outlets (AlJazeera.com, El País, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, Politico EU, Vice,Narratively), televisions (Deutsche Welle, France 24) and news agencies (Thomson Reuters Foundation, Ruptly, ZoominTV), as well as in Italian media such as Rai News, Repubblica TV, L'Espresso, Internazionale and Corriere della Sera.
A London City University alumni, since 2014 he has been working on innovative and interactive journalistic products, producing the webdoc Bolivia's everyday water war and the interactive video projects Mothers and children first and Coding like a girl.
In 2017 he received an award from the United Nations Correspondents Association for his coverage of the Italian humanitarian corridors for refugees.
