Mariana is a half­-Venezuelan, half­-Spanish freelance journalist. Currently, she’s based in Venezuela covering the collapse of the 21st century socialism for notable international publications. Her reporting has been published on the Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, BBC, RFI, Monocle, Cadena SER, El Universal, DW (Deutsche Welle), Fusion, France 24, and TRT World. Her interests focus on social and human rights stories. Mariana graduated with honors as a journalist from the Institut des Médias de Paris (ISCPA). She received her master’s degree on Violence, Conflict, and Development from SOAS University’s Department of Development Studies.
